One-line definition

CNC stands for Consensual Non-Consent: adults agreeing in advance to simulate a non-consensual scenario. It is a high-risk category of play.

Full definition

The paradox at the heart of CNC is that performing non-consent only works on top of real consent that is stricter than usual, with clearer limits and more reliable stop mechanisms than ordinary play. The resistance is scripted, but the agreement underneath it has to be airtight: negotiated in detail, with safewords or signals that cut through the fiction instantly.

CNC sits close to trauma, legal exposure, misread situations, and physical safety risks. This archive provides terminology only, with no scenario design and no operational guidance.
