One-line definition
A cuckold is a man who derives erotic experience from his partner’s encounters with others, by consensual design.
Full definition
The cuckold draws humiliation, arousal, or a deliberately complicated mix of feeling from his partner (usually a wife) having sex with someone else. It is a widely accepted consensual role in the community, and its emotional structure is the opposite of betrayal: everything here is negotiated, scripted, and chosen. Typical configurations include hotwife dynamics (husband as watcher or after-the-fact listener), bull scenes designed by all three participants, and humiliation registers where the wife or a Mistress narrates his inadequacy.

- vs. actual infidelity. Cuckolding is consensual roleplay, while infidelity is non-consensual harm. The two have nothing in common.
- vs. Swinging. Swingers exchange partners mutually; cuckolding usually runs one way.
Common misconceptions
”Cuckolding means the marriage is broken.”
Consensual cuckolding couples often communicate more, not less, than average, since the dynamic runs on negotiation.
