One-line definition
Ice play uses cold, through ice and chilled sensation, as sensory stimulus.
Full definition
Ice is temperature play’s accessible end: the gasp of first contact, the trail of melt, the contrast against warm skin or wax. On a blindfolded partner the anticipation does most of the work, since cold reads as burn for a disorienting first instant, which is exactly the trick these scenes exploit.
