One-line definition

Suspension is a form of bondage that lifts part or all of the body off the ground, generally treated as high-risk rope or bondage work.

Full definition

In suspension, the body’s weight is taken partly or wholly by the rigging rather than the floor, which is what places it at the demanding end of bondage. It carries real risks: falls, nerve compression, loss of circulation, load-bearing failure, and the need to respond quickly in an emergency. This site does not provide rigging or operating instruction.
