One-line definition
Mummification is heavy bondage that wraps the whole body in cling film, bandages, or similar material.
Full definition
Mummification combines total restraint with sensory deprivation: the wrapped person loses mobility while the material seals out external stimulus, often producing a deep inward state. Common materials include cling film, elastic bandages, latex sheeting, and purpose-made sleepsacks. On the restraint spectrum this is the heavy end, and the wrapped person depends completely on the wrapper’s watchfulness.
Risk reminder
Overheating, restricted circulation, airway access, and panic responses are the concrete risks, and the wrapped person cannot free themselves. The active partner stays present for the entire duration with quick-release tools at hand. This is terminology only, with no procedure.
